MELANI BYRNE, Educational and Developmental Psychologist Registrar
Completed Master’s degree in Educational Psychology in South Africa and has worked as a psychologist in schools supporting children ranging from ages 4 to 18 years since 2013. Training involved working with children within a therapy space that uses a child centred and psychodynamic approach. However, other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, is also vital supporting children with their emotional, social and/or behaviour challenges. Worked with children with a variety of diagnosis’s, especially children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Experience in formal psychometric assessments, such as cognitive testing, which form part supporting children within different contexts, e.g. schools and at home.
Currently receiving further training to gain endorsement in Educational and Developmental psychology.
